Studies have shown that companies in process manufacturing industries have a high potential for getting 'smarter'. Yet, there are many questions that arise from these findings: What will be the leading application that will drive smart technologies in process manufacturing? Which benefits can be assumed from smart production, assets or services? Which technologies in terms of sensors, network technologies and data analytics can be applied for specific problems?
In cooperation with relevant market players, KEX Knowledge Exchange and execon partners is conducting a focused project on »Digitalization in Process Manufacturing«, which covers the fields of smart production, smart assets and smart services.
Present project's time frame:
Start: November 2016
End: October 2017
Participation in the ongoing project is not possible.
Please do not hesitate to contact us for further information and upcoming projects.
Digitalization of production processes, including the integration of networking capabilities into production assets, is no longer just affecting the discrete manufacturing industries. Terms like »Internet of Things«, »Industrie 4.0«, »The Industrial Internet« or »Big Data« are just examples for the diversity of buzzwords that are used. But what do these buzzwords mean for companies in process manufacturing industries, particularly regarding their production processes, production technologies and value-added services?
In the consortium project we aim to get answers to these and many other questions:
Creating economic and technological transparency regarding relevant recent technology developments and upcoming technology trends in process manufacturing
Exploring and analyzing market and technology trends and possible game-changing business models
Promoting valuable exchange and networking between the most relevant international industry partners
The consortium project...
Assessment of consortium needs and relevand market trends by scanning for cross-industrial smart applications and solutions.
Detailed technology assessment for the most attractive smart applications and solutions selected by the project partners.
Deriving comprehensive business cases, evaluation of market opportunities and new business model generation.
